Low Cost Carriers to Start Servicing Chitose from 2012

It was reported on the Powderlife website the other day that several budget carriers are to start servicing Chitose from various short-haul Asian locations. The three airlines, namely Peach, Jetstar and Air Asia, are already firing shots across each others bows, a forewarning of the intensity of the competition to come. With these three Low Cost Carriers (LCC) entering the market to compete principally on price this has got to be good news for the traveller. Peach have already started offering flights from March and the other two are set to follow. Whatever happens it would seem to suggest that more people than ever will be able to consider a visit to Hokkaido (and hopefully Niseko) in 2012.
